Position Purpose

Project Controls Engineer will become an integral part of the growth of the company and help shape its future with ideas and energy. The position will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing and reporting on project and program information related to schedule performance and other related project metrics


Position Description

  • Review master schedule and construction schedule to analyze performance of projects related to baseline schedule.
  • Review other historic data to identify patterns, trends and exceptions to expected performance.
  • Compare multiple projects related to schedule, RFI and submittal review performance and summarize information for management review.
  • Research project data and records to identify reasons for project delays.

Position Requirements

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in the design/construction industry.
  • Comfort with using technology and learning new systems.
  • Ability to analyze data and summarize information.
  • Ability to identify trends and exceptions through data analysis.
  • Skilled in using P6 and MS Project.
  • Knowledge of basic construction processes such as RFI, submittals, PCO, CO, payment etc.
  • Ability to be organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work positively in a team environment.

Position Description

  • Pro-actively, collaboratively and effectively manage the Design and Construction phases of projects.
  • Understand contract requirements and administer contract effectively.
  • Follow up on issues that can impact project goals, and take the lead in arriving to a resolution effectively.
  • Develop project schedules and verify if progress is consistent with schedule.
  • Manage the Architect, Consultant and Contractor procurement processes.
  • Manage the development of project scope and monitor budget adherence through the design and construction process.
  • Review and negotiate contractor change orders.
  • Review and negotiate consultant contract services and amendments.
  • Review and negotiate contractor change orders.
  • Monitor quality of Project for compliance with contract documents and industry standards.
  • Maintain project records in an organized manner.
  • Produce daily, weekly and monthly reports.

This position requires ability to work swing shift to coordinate with General Contractor's work schedule.

  • Understand contract requirements and administer contract effectively.
  • Follow up on issues that can impact project goals, and take the lead in arriving to a resolution effectively.
  • Review contractor’s schedule and verify if progress is consistent with schedule.
  • Review contractor’s request for change order for validity and take the lead in negotiating equitable compensation.
  • Manage the Request For Information, Submittal and Payment processes.
  • Monitor quality of construction for compliance with contract documents and industry standards.
  • Maintain project records in an organized manner.
  • Produce daily, weekly and monthly reports.
  • Assist in the resolution of disputes and claims.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with the client and all team members.
